Before his second game of the season, Caitlin Clark understands what the meaning of sports and entertainment is, but it is more than that as she also acknowledges the fact that there is a commitment to the game and to fans.

At least for now, the young star is tasting the bittersweet flavor of being a professional athlete with night like the first two for her and the Indiana Fever in the current season, but also being loved by the fans as they cheer her on.

With that said, she is planning to keep her work ethic as it was in college to try and take good care of her body and always try to play, as she says that she wants to ensure fans that she will not miss out on her games.

“I’ve always said that people are sacrificing a lot to spend money, to get you to spend resources to get here, or travel, or pay for their young daughter or young son to come and watch us or support us, or buy our jerseys, or buy whatever merchandise it is. So, I think, it’s, like, I understand it because I was that young girl, and that’s what my parents did, too,” she said during a press conference.

There are many things that affect and interfere

The WNBA has been in the shadow of the NBA for many years, but ever since Caitlin Clark has been in the mix, things have changed, everyone is looking forward to seeing her on tv or live in attendance.

She also understands that many people make sacrifices to buy a ticket but also the fact that she needs to take care of herself on and off the court so she can be ready for the fans.

“I’m very aware of it, that’s why I didn’t miss a single game in college. I knew that people are coming and wanting to support and watch me,” se said on the conference.

Ticket prices have gone up 241% on average for the month of May just because she is playing. The league is projecting a considerable increase in revenue with bigger media deals and many teams have even changed venues to accommodate mor fans. This is in fact the Caitlin Clark effect.
