Former BGT star Susan Boyle looks unrecognizable as she makes rare public apperance

Scottish singer Susan Boyle looked unrecognizable as she stepped out with a glamorous new look during a rare red carpet appearance this week.

Susan, who shot to stardom following her incredible run on Simon Cowell’s Britain’s Got Talent, turned heads as she stepped out for the Pride of Scotland Awards 2024 held at DoubleTree by Hilton in Glasgow Central with a fresh new look. The 63-year-old singer looked radiant and beautiful at the lavish event after undergoing a complete transformation since her days starring on the hit reality series.

For the award show, the operatic pop singer wore a flattering light pink gown paired with feather sleeves that she accessorized with a white clutch and gold jewelry. For the occasion, Susan sported a glam makeup look complete with pink lipstick and showed off her brand new hairstyle – a short bob with wispy bangs and highlights, which starkly contrasted her curly dark short hair back in the day.

During her red carpet debut, Susan sweetly told The Daily Star: “I feel so honored to be here. This is an incredible evening celebrating extraordinary people who deserve special recognition. Anyone going above and beyond should be applauded.”

After gaining widespread popularity during her run on season three of Britian’s Got Talent dazzling viewers with her powerful rendition of I Dreamed a Dream from Les Misérables that was described as “one of the most unforgettable auditions” in the show’s history. Simon Cowell, known for being a harsh critic when it comes to singing, said that Susan was “the perfect example of ‘never judge a book by its cover.'” And went on to add that she “changed the rule book” for the show, explaining: “She came on this show and everything changed because up until that point … there was a perception that you had to look this way or be this age.”

Although Susan wasn’t crowned the final winner of the competition, she move on to find great success in the music industry. As of 2021, Boyle has sold a whopping 25 million records following the release of her debut album I Dreamed a Dream in 2009 which sold over 10 million copies worldwide and became a best-selling album internationally in November of 2009. In 2011, Boyle made UK music history by becoming the first female artist to see three successive albums debut at number one in less than two years.

In 2023, Susan made a guest apperance on Britain’s Got Talent and revealed that she suffered from a minor stroke. Following the announcement, she has continued to share updates on social media. In an Instagram post from June of last year, Susan wrote in part: “For the past year I have worked so hard to get my speech and singing back, with the sole aim of being able to sing on stage again.”
