When we talk about the best scorer in history, the first names that come to mind are those of Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.
And yet, according to a veteran of the league, there is a player who greatly surpasses them in this area.
To consider a team as dangerous, we often emphasize its defensive strength and collective cohesion.
But no matter how solid the opposing franchises are in these areas, certain players have proven that they are capable of overcoming all fortresses through their ability to score.
Among the best all-time scorers, the names of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant or LeBron James are often cited.
Their fans have been quarreling for years to put forward their arguments in the debate of the strongest in the matter.
However, another superstar renowned for his great offensive qualities is sometimes forgotten in this discussion: Carmelo Anthony.
Because according to his former teammate Raymond Felton, no other player is better than the Knicks legend at scoring baskets. In the Tidal League podcast , he then supported his opinion.
Carmelo Anthony stronger than MJ, Kobe, LeBron and Durant?
His ability to score with such ease… I don’t know anyone better than Carmelo Anthony. Honestly, he’s a better scorer than Tracy McGrady, LeBron, Kobe and Michael Jordan.
Overall, he is the best scorer of all time. He has the post-up, the footwork, an impeccable mid-range shot, the 3-pointer, the athletic abilities…
He can dunk on you, he can drive to the basket, he has the dexterity of a point guard, he has everything you want.
I find him better than Kevin Durant, because I’ve never seen KD have a post game like Melo’s. Obviously, KD is a great scorer.
He scores with such ease even though he’s like 2m10…
Except I saw Melo score in all areas of the field. I’ve never seen KD do dirty things to someone in the post like Melo did.
So I have to say that Melo is the best and I’m sure lots of people think the same.
We are not going to question Raymond Felton’s thinking, but the fact remains that a large majority of fans do not necessarily share this opinion on the Twittersphere.
Prime Melo was different but let’s not make him overrated now
— SixersShowYo (@SixersShowYo) April 9, 2024
Melo in his prime was incredible but it’s a matter of not overrating him now.
According to Raymond Felton, Carmelo Anthony is the best all-time scorer.
Whether it’s LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant or Kobe Bryant, no one would have an arsenal as complete as his.
However, many fans are not convinced by the arguments presented by the ex-leader.
