NBA (DR) / Oklahoma City Thunder (DR)
Journalists will soon have to make a choice between Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren for the rookie of the year title.
A Thunder teammate already has the answer, and it may not please everyone.
With the end of the regular season comes the start of individual trophy awards.
We will have to wait a few weeks for a verdict, however, journalists will soon have the opportunity to vote.
Nikola Jokic has taken a serious option for the MVP title, while Victor Wembanyama seems to be an obvious choice for rookie of the year.
A Thunder cash player on the ROTY title
While the record has no importance for ROTY because of the draft, Wembanyama is seen as the favorite for this trophy.
He has largely dominated the debates with several crazy performances since January, including a five-by-five or a game with 40 points and 20 rebounds recently.
But at the Thunder, as with Jalen Williams, we continue to believe that Holmgren can win.
Jalen Williams praises Chet Holmgren’s impressive rookie season as Chet is on track to play all 82 games despite battling injuries, contributing significantly to OKC’s push towards the top of the conference
“What's his case for Rookie of the Year?Well, I think his numbers speak… pic.twitter.com/yErMmuFHWy

Jalen Williams on Chet Holmgren : “What argument does he have for rookie of the year?
Well I think the numbers speak for themselves. He has had a very good season so far.
We were 50% without Chet last season, and now we already have 50 wins. It is a very good thing. »
Except that as we said, victories are not really an argument for the title of rookie of the year.
It’s hard to blame young players when they come to one of the worst teams in the league.
For their part, the supporters have made their choice a long time ago.
It’s impossible not to reward Wembanyama, far ahead today.
Let it go, it’s wemby

Forget it, it’s Wemby
He’d have a case if Wemby didn’t exist

He would have a file if Wemby didn’t exist
At the Thunder, we obviously vote for Chet Holmgren for the title of rookie of the year with the only argument… victories.
It’s hard to find others when Victor Wembanyama has dominated absolutely everything else this season.
