During the second day of the NBA draft combine, scouts and spectators were impressed with Bronny James, the son of LeBron James. The young player outperformed himself in the scrimmage, scoring 13 points in 23 minutes to help his side win.

As Bronny pursues his goal of becoming an NBA player, many people are anticipating big things from him. Before experiencing an untimely heart attack last summer, the young guard was considered one of the league’s best prospects. He has since worked hard to enhance his performance and health while attending USC.

ESPN draft expert Jonathan Givony updated Bronny James’s draft estimate following his performance on the second day of the combine. The kid of the LA Lakers legend is surprisingly projected by ESPN to be a late second-round pick in the 2024 NBA draft.

“We’re gonna have him at 54 in our latest update. … Talking to people out here, they feel like he’s legitimized himself as a real NBA prospect. He’s not just some sideshow, (not just) LeBron’s son that the cameras are following him. … People love his attitude, his enthusiasm, the way he understands what type of player that he is,” Givony said.

Givony asserts that Bronny James’s skill level is on par with that of athletes like Davion Mitchell, Jrue Holiday, and Derrick White. Bronny isn’t expected to be a first-round choice, but maybe some clubs may interest him.

Bronny James May Attract Many Clubs During the NBA Draft

Several noteworthy players have been chosen in the second round of the NBA draft. Three-time MVP Nikola Jokic, Draymond Green, and Manu Ginobili emerged from the second round.

As per the NBA website, the Lakers surpassed the anticipated 54th selection with their 55th choice. LA might not turn down the opportunity if Bronny James’s name is still available until the very end of the selection.

Bronny may be acquired by the San Antonio Spurs with the 35th pick. The Spurs ultimately require a point guard who can mesh well with Victor Wembanyama for the next campaign.

The Miami Heat own the 43rd pick. So, acquiring a two-way point guard like Bronny James may fit into Erik Spoelstra’s scheme. If they can get a space for LeBron and his son, it may also entice him to rejoin the South Beach squad.
