Tonight’s WNBA showdown between the Indiana Fever and New York Liberty came with plenty of hype for one obvious reason: It marked the first game for Caitlin Clark in front of the Fever crowd.

But something else noteworthy happened in the first quarter of the Liberty-Fever contest, and it had nothing to do with Caitlin Clark. As you can see in the video below, Indiana’s Aliyah Boston wasn’t happy with the way she was fouled on a shot attempt by Jonquel Jones.

That led to a brief scuffle between the two players, before their respective teammates stepped in to break it up. You may note that Jones appeared to tell Boston, “I’ll (expletive) you up.”

Boston went on to make both free throws, but the Liberty got the last laugh with a 102-66 blowout victory over the Fever on their home court. Caitlin Clark finished the day with nine points, seven rebounds and six assists.

The loss dropped Indiana to 0-2 on the young season. They also fell 92-71 to the Connecticut Sun in the season opener on Tuesday, with Clark tallying 20 points, three rebounds and two assists in her WNBA debut.

Caitlin Clark & Fever Will Try To Rebound On Saturday

This 0-2 start isn’t what Caitlin Clark and the Fever envisioned, but it’s obviously far too early for Indiana to panic with a long season ahead.

Fortunately, Clark and the Fever won’t have to wait long for the chance to avenge Thursday’s ugly blowout loss at home. Indiana will get a rematch against the Liberty when they visit the Big Apple this Saturday.

After finishing the home-and-home with New York, the Fever will return home for another showdown with the Sun on Monday. They will then hit the road for a three-game trek that begins against the Seattle Storm on Wednesday, followed by showdowns with the Los Angeles Sparks and Las Vegas Aces.
