Angel Reese may have had a fun moment during Usher’s concert last month, but turns out there were mixed emotions involved. Yes, we are talking about the R&B legend’s show in LA that witnessed appearances from not just Reese but also LL Cool J and Boyz II Men. If you have seen the videos from the show, you’d know of a moment when Usher reached Reese’s table and sang alongside her. Reese may have not been all in for it.
A discussion emerged about the very same moment between the Chicago Sky rookie and popular YouTuber Kayla Nicole on the latest episode of the Unapologetically Angel podcast. Nicole mentioned that she, too, was at Usher’s show and would have loved to be in Reese’s position, be fed some cherries even, if it were to come to that. When the Chi-Town Barbie questioned the wish, saying “no, you wouldn’t,” Nicole emphasized Reese does not feel the same about the R&B legend as she does.
Though the WNBA rookie stated she loves Usher, she has her reservations after a point. “I don’t want him putting cherries in my mouth… Didn’t even want to sing in the mic. I was like, no, ‘I don’t want to do it… I was a little scared,” she added.
Angel Reese had even taken to her social media platform to let out her embarrassment of the moment. Notably, Usher was singing one of his popular hits, There Goes My Baby and Reese sang several parts of the song. “Look at my struggling to sing,” she later wrote on Instagram.

The 45-year-old singer previously met the basketball sensation when Sky played in Atlanta. Not only did Usher join the team in the locker room, but Reese also shared a video featuring the singer. Having shared some conversations with Usher during her time at the Met Gala, she was also expecting him to show up for the game against LV Aces. And he did, posing for some pictures with the athletes in the process. But seems like someone else from the Reese family would have enjoyed the moment more.
Even before Angel Reese, the Sky rookie’s mother had her fan moment
This goes back to the time while Reese was still making waves in the college basketball scenario. And while the NCAA teams were gearing up for this year’s March Madness run, last season’s WNBA champs, Las Vegas Aces, were having a blast at Usher’s show at his residency My Way.
Apart from the WNBA stars, the attendees of the show included Reese’s mother as well. “My momma outside tonight at the Usher concert,” Reese captioned an IG story shared by her back then.
It’s clear that Usher shares a close involvement with the basketball world. Not only has he been witnessed sitting on the courtside in multiple instances, the basketball stars have also been spotted in many of his concerts. One of which even witnessed an appearance from LeBron James and his wife Savannah. Angel Reese has been the latest one from the basketball community, spotted having a time at the R&B legend’s show as she continues to make the most of her off-season.
