During Friday night’s ESPN WNBA Countdown show, analyst Andraya Carter called out the sole Angel Reese voter who snubbed Caitlin Clark of a unanimous Rookie of the Year win.

While she and her co-hosts highlighted Clark as deserving of the unanimous win title, Carter called for the WNBA voting not to be anonymous, citing that the voters should be able to stand on their choice.

“This is why we would love the WNBA to make voting not anonymous,” Carter said. “Because if you were the person that had that one vote, you should just be able to stand on it and we should know who you are.”

Caitlin Clark reportedly won the award after she secured 66 of 67 votes, with Angel Reese winning one vote. While both had historic rookie seasons, the Indiana Fever star arguably distinguished herself as the clear winner.

Clark finished the season with one of the best rookie performances in league history. The first overall pick of the 2024 WNBA draft averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, a WNBA record-high 8.4 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 41.7%, including 34.4% from deep.

WNBA fans displeased with lone Angel Reese voter who snubbed Caitlin Clark’s unanimous ROY

The news that Caitlin Clark had been snubbed off a unanimous MVP win stunned many fans, with many displeased with the sole anonymous voter responsible. WNBA fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their reaction to the snub, with some calling for the WNBA to put names to the votes.

“Gotta ban whoever voted for Angel Reese. They let too many people have votes. NBA is egregious lately too,” a fan tweeted.

“If the person had a legitimate reason for voting Reese, they’d come out and say it. The fact that voter refuses to come out publicly proves it was for BS motives,” a fan tweeted.

“I wanna know WHO?? Cause it had to be the same person who gave Angel a 4th place MVP vote & they need their credentials … right?” a fan tweeted.

“They need to start putting names to these votes,” a fan tweeted.

“That ladies and gentleman is what we call a hater,” a fan tweeted.

“What an embarrassment. There’s zero credible argument for voting Angel Reese ROY 😂😂” a fan tweeted.

Caitlin Clark was previously the unanimous choice among the 15-person panel for the Associated Press WNBA Rookie of the Year award.
