Joe Rogan And Dana White Disagree On UFC 307 Title Fight Result, Claims Former Champion

Joe Rogan And Dana White Believe Judging Error At UFC 307

Joe Rogan and Dana White

Joe Rogan and Dana White, two of the biggest names in UFC, rarely find themselves on the same side of a controversial decision. But that’s exactly what happened at UFC 307, according to former champion Raquel Pennington. The bantamweight title fight between Pennington and Julianna Pena ended in a split decision. Pena took home the belt, but not everyone agreed with the judges’ call.

Pennington claimed both Rogan and White scored the fight in her favor. It’s a surprising twist, given how often these two butt heads on UFC matters. The former champ didn’t stop there. She said nearly everyone she talked to thought she won. From fellow fighters to commentators, the consensus seemed clear.

“And it’s crazy to me how every single media outlet like there wasn’t even one that said Pena [won]… I’ve had Dana White, freaking Hunter [Campbell], Joe Rogan, Jon Anik, [Daniel Cormier], everybody who’s sitting right there and everybody is just like, ‘No way. We don’t understand this.’ Nobody understood it,” said Pennington via MMA Fighting.

Raquel Pennington’s frustration is palpable as she believes she did enough to retain her title. The loss snapped her impressive six-fight win streak. Despite the setback, ‘Rocky’ remains optimistic about her future in the sport. She’s already eyeing potential matchups, including a bout with Kayla Harrison.

The controversial decision has reignited debates about UFC judging. Some fans are calling for open scoring, while others want stricter qualifications for judges. The UFC has yet to comment officially on the judging controversy. But with big names like Rogan and White allegedly disagreeing with the result, it’s likely this discussion isn’t over.

Raquel Pennington Hopes For An Immediate Rematch Against Juliana Pena

Pennington, the former champion, recently found herself in a frustrating position. She lost her title to Pena at UFC 307 in a controversial split decision. But, she is not taking the loss lying down. She is standing up, her fists clenched, ready for round two.

The fight was close, no doubt about it. Many fans and analysts alike thought ‘Rocky’ had done enough to retain her belt. But as fans know, it’s what those judges scribble down on their scorecards that matters. Raquel Pennington isn’t just complaining, though. She’s campaigning for an immediate rematch.

“We’re definitely going to push for the rematch. I was talking to Lloyd yesterday because I don’t find it fair, at all. And it’s not something that I want to let go of,” said Pennington while talking to Din Thomas on MMA Today.

However, there are several contenders for that coveted 135-pound title, the biggest name among them being Kayla Harrison. But there’s a catch, as she recently confessed that the weight cut to 135 pounds was taking its toll. Fans will have to wait and see if the UFC chooses a Raquel Pennington rematch over a new contender.
