The show has been criticized by viewers from all ends of the spectrum, with some accusing the show hosts of being hypocrites and others slamming them for being a “chorus of conformity.” This said, in 2021-2022, Variety reported that The View was the most-watched daytime talk show.

Rumors Swirl Online That ‘The View’ is Being Canceled
The show is co-hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, and former Trump White House staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin. Each of these hosts has caused their own controversy of some sort over the years.
Whoopi Goldberg has been called out for her highly inappropriate questions, and other hosts have insisted gay people can “sniff out each other.”
Many times over the past few years, we’ve seen rumors circulate of The View being canceled. Yet again, on October 29, 2023, an X—formerly known as Twitter—user shared a photo that claimed the chat show was going to be canceled because “they’ve lost their audience.”

The rumor opened to mixed reception, with some celebrating the possibility and others defending the show. One shared, “Sadly, not true. The View is the #1 watched daytime talk show and will be on TV for years to come. This was a satire post.”

The reality is, considering the success of the show in 2021-2022, it’s unlikely that it will be canceled anytime soon. As Variety reported, “With strong ratings, ABC has locked in most of the panel for the foreseeable future, with many of the co-hosts inking long-term deals that last until Season 28, which will take them through the 2024 presidential election.”
